My Holiday

In the end of first semester, after all the student hand their school report over, my school gave us holiday time for two weeks, from December 23, 2022 until January 7, 2023. At that period, I was not going outside the city. I was at home for the most of time. But, I went outside some times just with my mother to go shopping.

In December 27, I accompanied my mother to the nearest photo copier from my house to copy her documents as her task for her job. We left at 07.00 in the morning. After walked for about 7 minutes, we arrived at the photo copier, and quickly give the documents before other customer arrive. Then, the owner did the photo copy quickly but carefully. We can say that photo copier store was big. Beside the photo copier, the owner had other businesses, those were play station rental, mini store for stationery and daily needs, and mini restaurant that assembled in one place. The owner develop his businesses with his wife.

During the process, we just sat in front of the display that made of glass where the stationery was displayed. We sat on the chairs that the height could changed, that usually use by the customer that want to use the computers over the display. Inside, across us, there was the photo copy machine. It was a big machine, the color was white, the shape was block, and it was clean. It could copy many papers at a glance. But, because my mother's documents was so thick that I thought that was more than a ream, and she needed 3 copies of them, the process consumed almost two hours. We used our time with chatted about anything, mostly about my education. At least, we planned to go to the department store after the photo copy done to buy some presents for my counsins birthday.

At about 9, the progress done. My mother paid the bill and we walked to the nearest department store. After walked for 3 minutes, we arrived at the store. But, it was still closed. My mother remembered that we had no breakfast yet. So, she urged me to eat. I offered to eat doughnut in the nearest doughnut store, and she accepted my request. So, we went and ate doughnut plus ice cappuccino there. I ate chocolate doughnut and my mother an almond doughnut. The doughnut store was small but neat. There were just two employees and four other customers at that time. From how they look and talk, the other customer (women) were old friends. The other customes left about 10 minutes before us.

At 10.00, we finished eating. We knew that the department store should be open at that time. After we checked again to the store, that was right. There were also other buyer that went outside after got their necessaries when we entered the store.

In the entrance gate, we checked our body temperature with the digital thermometer and sanitized our hands with the hand sanitizer. My mother board out her papers and umbrella while I picked up the shopping basket. Then, we started shopping with happy feelings.

The store was not too crowded yet. It still clean and the air was still fresh. We walked slowly with lively eyes to find something to buy. After about 10 minutes, the basket filled with some snacks, detergens, and softeners (for washing clothes). Then, we went upstairs to the stationery section.

We took the wrapping papers, a box of ballpoint, correction tapes and rubbers/erasers for my cousins' birthday presents, and some plastic folders for my mother's papers. After that, we went downstairs and went to the cashier. After paid, we took our goods in the deposit counter, and went home. When we passed the juicer, we stopped by and bought two cups of juice for my grandmother and her young brother. After that, we went home without other interruption to buy other things along the way.

That day on my holiday was simple, but I still clearly remember that.
