CAMPRT 2022

At 11-12 of November 2022, I went camping to Ciwangun Indah Camp Lembang (CIC Lembang). Actually, the camp is for 11th grader, but I joined it as the member of Junior Red Cross with 5 other 10th grader from other class. The preparation for the camp was very short and sudden. My 12th grader seniors that would join the camp at the first suddenly couldn't join because they had so many tests and preparation to go to the university or other educational facilities. So, they just supported and taught us some things that might be needed in the camp a day before. After that, they left the rest to us.

In the afternoon, after school, a day before we went camping, the Junior Red Cross members discussed about what dress-code we would like to wear during the camp, for the first and second day. Because there wasn't a deal yet in the face-to-face meet, we continued the discussion in our Line group. The result was we wear brown or cream color shirt in first day and free shirt color for the second day. For both we would wear black trousers. Because I didn't have brown shirt, my friend Ashilla lent me one of hers.

In the day we went camping, in the plan, we must gather at school at 5 a.m. But, my senior from 11th grade told us suddenly in the midnight through Line group chat that we must gather at school and brief together with the Scouting members at half past four. Fortunately, I woke up at 3 a.m. and received the messages early, so I could arrived on time, while others Junior Red Cross members hadn't come yet.

We briefed and did many preparation, such as informed about the schedule for 2 days, distributed the medicines or first aid kit, distributed the class to keep, distributed the red ribbons and yellow ribbons to be tied to the students who had disease history and needed more attention from us, etc. After that, we came to classes and checked the students' attendance and tied the ribbons to who need that. After that, at 7.15 a.m., we boarded the car to go to the CIC Lembang.

I slept almost half of the trip. Although inside the car was so crowd, but it was so neat to sleep there. After two hours, we arrived at the location. We gathered in the parking lot and then walked to the campsite at the top. The camp participants immediately set up their tents. But, me and the other committee would sleep in the big tent that was already built. We just had to tidy the inside up so we could sleep and put our stuff there nicely.

As a Junior Red Cross member, we didn't join the activities as participants. We had to be on guard to deal with unwanted situation, such as injured people. All the time, I thought I was mostly quiet and paying attention on others activities. It was sometimes boring, but entertaining. The 11th grader played so many Scouting games with the active and creative coaches. They were grouped into some groups that different for boys and girls, and they were very compact and competitive all the time. I was inspired by them. I recognized some of them as my senior in junior high school too, or as my group adviser during school orientation (PLiST), or other senior that I just met.

It rained in the afternoon, and the eleventh grader activity was cooking competition between the ten classes. Before the rain got stronger, they already started cooking, so, they could finish the cooking at the time.

At night, the activities were going on in the large field below the tents area. It was a little bit hard to reach that place from the camp. There, they made a big campfire and provided an area to the participants to show their performances (each class). As a JRC member, we had to stay around the area too. But, suddenly, we got message from our senior that there must be one or two JRC member to deliver a food for a student that sick at that time. He was stay in his tent, 1-male tent. Then, my friend, Chelsea and I went back to the tents area, specifically male students' area. On the way, we met our senior that also one of the commitee. He took us to search the tent where the sick person stayed. We couldn't find anyone in the 1-male tent. In the other tent, we met other male senior that also sick, and they said that there were no one except them that stayed in the male tents area. But, our senior that with us during the search said that he was checked the 1-male tent before and there was an answer when he called to check if there were somebody there. Afer that, we felt a little bit frightened and went back to the more bright and crowd area.
